Between now and September 8th, Judges in the Design category will be choosing 800 Finalists. The judges’ criteria will be based on innovativeness, creativity, originality, workmanship, overall aesthetic, and embodiment of the American Made theme. But that’s not our only chance to be a finalist; there are 200 wild card finalist spots and we’re activating our social network and encouraging our fans to help our chances by visiting our Nominee profile and share it on Facebook or Twitter. Please help us out- share our Iron Art by Orion Nominee Profile.
As some of you might know… Orion was started in 1983 out of the back of a pick up truck by Sunil and Atul Patel.
It is a true Made- in- America story that they are proud to share and are still fabricating 100% of all their hardware right here in the U.S.
All our decorative drapery hardware is hand finished. Here our artisans are silver leafing and painting poles and rings.
The Designer’s Guide to Traversing Systems is now live on our You Tube Channel. The fourth in Orion’s ongoing complimentary webinar series. This month we’ll be talking about Orion Traversing systems. We’ll give you an overview of our traversing hardware products including motorization and give you tips on ordering and specifying.
To really transform a space, custom drapery is a must! Creative drapery design has the ability to filter light, exaggerate ceiling height, add color and pattern, define vertical space and ultimately complete a design scheme.
SPARK: When you do drapery you HAVE to do drapery hardware. Drapery Hardware does more than finish off a window treatment. It can solve a design problem; help meet your client’s needs, adds function and tie the window treatment to the rest of the room. Take a look at Dering Hall’s statement picks and check out the great decorative hardware used in each.
I was flipping through the pages of this month’s (July/August) Traditional Home, as always checking out the window treatments in the feature articles when what did I see…! On page 110-111, Orion’s Wood Art in a stunning family room by Sherrill Canet of Sherrill Canet Interiors of New York, NY. The family room was in last year’s Hamptons Showhouse and she made a sprawling space intimate by creating two seating areas- one by the bay window and another by the French doors.
The centerpiece was an oversized ottoman in a great ikat print in pink and black. The same print came up the drapery panels leading edges. Speaking of draperies- the euro pleated draperies were hung from our Wood Art poles and rings in white wash finish with Ornate Flute finials. Shout out to Sherril for a spectacular room and for choosing Orion Iron Art. If we can help you with your next showhouse project- give us a call, we love to do custom projects!
Speaking of iron, check out the aluminum laser cut panel in hot pink in the window. Playing off the geometric wallpaper and bringing a burst of color on the window, it’s in a really unique way to do window treatments. LOVE IT!
